About SPI

Services Preparatory Institute is the state government-managed military training institution in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar established in the year 1977. It trains students academically, mentally, and physically for the written Union Public Service Commission examination for the National Defence Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and for interview, psychological, and other personality tests with the Services Selection Board. The cadets of SPI are enrolled in one of the best schools in town.

Why SPI?

Though the National Defence Academy (NDA) was in Maharashtra yet the participation of the youths in Maharashtra was very negligible, hence the State Government in year 1977 decided to establish, ‘Services Preparatory Institute’ at Chattrapati Sambhajinagar for male aspirants and female aspirants at Nashik. Every year, in the month of April, SPI Entrance Examination is conducted by the State government to seek admission in SPI. The students studying in Class 10th (State / CBSE / ICSE Board) are eligible to appear for this entrance examination. The youths who aspire to join the Indian Armed Forces as an officer should not miss this opportunity as one can appear for this exam only once in life time. Probably this is the first exam with negative marking that a student appears for. In addition, while preparing for this exam, students’ intelligence in almost all subjects & areas (Mathematics, Science, English, General Knowledge and Mental Ability) are assessed. Most of the parents & students are not aware, so they remain deprived of this exam. To confidently ace the SPI Entrance Exam, ‘Sahakar Defence Academy’, Chattrapati Sambhajinagar (The the only institution in Maharashtra, that has consecutively produced the NDA exam results of its first, second, third & fourth batch) offers scientifically designed, ‘Pre-SPI Exam Entrance Crash Course’.
